Peeler Leads Lakers Over Kings

Rookie Anthony Peeler scored 17 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Lakers beat the Sacramento Kings, 119-102, in an exhibition game Tuesday night.

The Lakers (4-2) pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Kings, 42-33.

Peeler, who attended Missouri, dazzled a partisan crowd with several driving dunks.

The Lakers led the entire second half. Including exhibition games, the Lakers have beaten the Kings (1-3) in 33 of their last 36 meetings.

Byron Scott added 20 points for the Lakers and Elden Campbell had 16, 12 in the fourth quarter.

Mitch Richmond had only one point in the first half but wound up leading the Kings with 17. Wayman Tisdale had 16 points.

Magic Johnson watched the game in street clothes from the Laker bench.

The Lakers will play the Washington Bullets tonight at Memphis, Tenn., and on Friday will face Cleveland at Chapel Hill, N.C.
