Line-Item Veto
All candidates for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives should be asked: Do you favor or oppose giving line-item veto power to the President?
It is extremely doubtful that the budget can be balanced, or the deficit reduced, without the President having this power. This question is not being asked of the very individuals who would be voting on this matter.
Each of the three presidential candidates should be asked: How hard will you press Congress to obtain this power?
