ANAHEIM : Head-On Collision Fatal to 2; 1 Injured
Two people were killed and a passenger was critically injured in a head-on collision, police said Friday.
The collision occurred at 11:10 p.m. Thursday after a car driven east on La Palma Avenue apparently struck a curb near Sequoia Avenue and bounced back across the road into oncoming traffic, police said. Both drivers died shortly afterward, police said.
A passenger, Noel Harrison Ford, 25, of La Mirada, was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where a spokeswoman said he was in critical condition.
Police are awaiting a coroner’s office toxicology report to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
Police investigators said they didn’t know yet if the wet pavement contributed to the collision.
Linda Ann Perri, 21, of Irvine was driving east on La Palma Avenue with Ford, her boyfriend, according to police and co-workers. Perri apparently struck the curb when her lane ended and she failed to merge into an adjacent lane, said Officer Robert DePaola. Perri’s car collided head-on with a car driven by Tamara Beatrice Sirovy, 33, of Anaheim, police said.
Paramedics took Perri, a marketing manager with American Home Food Products, to Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim, where she died. Sirovy was dead at the scene, police said.
