Water District Fight

I take issue with your (Oct. 25) article, “Water Fight Could Topple Influential Farmers’ Advocate.” The bulk of it stresses the “connections” the incumbent, Herb Stickney, has with the Metropolitan Water District and the San Diego County Water Authority. It demeans the issues of trust, integrity and judgment in the conduct of Rainbow Municipal Water District affairs.

It is not a “pipsqueak water fight using aging political dirt,” conducted by an “upstart activist” Davis Roach, our candidate, for the board of directors. It is the culmination of a long fight by a citizens’ group to expose unethical practices by directors, harassment and firing of a civic-minded whistle-blower, and cover-up of thievery by a former general manager.
