A Reseda to Sunset Link

Share

It is inconceivable that the City Council should oppose allowing vehicular traffic from Reseda Boulevard to go through to Sunset Boulevard or from Mulholland Drive to reach the San Diego Freeway. With the ever-increasing traffic problems on the Ventura Freeway and Ventura Boulevard, let’s not give up our right to open Reseda Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard, as originally planned 50 years ago, which could relieve much of the congestion.

Completion of this road has always been supported by the Fire Department as a major safety factor.

The San Diego Freeway is already overburdened with stop-and-go traffic and a second route out of the Valley is long overdue. Why should the public have politicians give away this long established right of way when the need is so obvious? Why are the politicians trying to keep the public away from the parklands that we’ve paid for?

If this is to serve a few hikers and equestrians, then the policy is discriminatory.
