Dunhill Eyeing Gucci Takeover: British luxury goods purveyor Dunhill Holdings is negotiating the takeover of Italian fashion company Guccio Gucci, according to a London newspaper. “A merger of the two groups would produce one of the largest and potentially most profitable groups in the European luxury goods market,” the Independent said. It did not mention a price but said Dunhill had a $243-million war chest after its recent acquisition of German fashion house Karl Seeger Legerwaren for $25 million. Dunhill officials could not be reached for comment.
