Political Banner Slows Traffic
For the second time in a week, a large anti-Bill Clinton banner posted along the San Diego Freeway slowed morning traffic for about two hours, highway patrol officers reported Monday.
The 15-foot red and white banner, posted along a chain-link fence near the Jamboree Road off-ramp, snarled northbound traffic for about 20 miles, said Officer Angel Johnson of the California Highway Patrol.
Drivers slowed to look at large white letters against a red background that read, “Bill Clinton . . . Not,” Johnson said.
On Wednesday, four large anti-Clinton banners were strung along Interstate 5 and the San Diego Freeway.
In both instances CHP workers removed the signs.
