NASA Prepares for Launch

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. —
NASA workers on Tuesday began preparing the shuttle Discovery for launch next month on a mission to deploy a Defense Department satellite. The eighth and final shuttle mission of the year is tentatively scheduled to begin Dec. 2, nearly a month behind schedule because of problems with a faulty steering engine.
