PRO FOOTBALL: DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Ingram to Have Surgery

Mark Ingram, wide receiver for the New York Giants, was placed on the injured reserve list because of an injured right knee he suffered during Sunday night’s victory over the Washington Redskins.

The team said that the six-year veteran had a slightly torn ligament of his right knee. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery today.

Coach Ray Handley said that he would await surgery results before deciding how the Giants will replace Ingram. Doctors estimated Ingram would be sidelined for up to six weeks.

Ingram has 18 receptions for 292 yards and no touchdowns this season.

Atlanta Falcon quarterback Chris Miller has been put on injured reserve after undergoing surgery on his left knee.

To replace Miller on the roster, the team activated safety Joe Fishback, recently released by the New York Jets.

Houston Oiler quarterback Warren Moon passed neurological tests as he continued his recovery from a concussion he suffered Sunday. Oiler officials said he is expected to play against the Cleveland Browns.
