San Diego State forward Courtie Miller, who had two knee surgeries last year, suffered a mild sprain in his left knee Wednesday during afternoon practice at Peterson Gym.

SDSU trainer Mark Haines said Miller’s injury, which occurred during a one-on-one drill, is not serious but enough to slow him for at least a few days.

“He will be limited for (today’s) practice and he will be limited for Friday’s (intrasquad) scrimmage,” Haines said.

Miller was sidelined part of last season because of two minor surgeries on his right knee. Haines said Keith Balzer is 100% again after a flare-up of a chronic shoulder ailment last week. Haines said Miller (right knee), Balzer and guard/forward Tony Clark (back) all have chronic conditions that can bother them throughout the season.

“They’ll all have to be on sort of a lifetime maintenance program for these things,” Haines said.

Each day during camp, Clark has left team practice for one hour for individual strength exercises: running, lifting and swimming.
