Though there’s no official announcement, the R&B; band Guy has apparently broken up. Member Aaron Hall has signed a solo deal and leader Teddy Riley is tied up with other projects, including his own band, Blackstreet, and his brother’s group, Wreckx-N-Effect, whose fast-rising “Rump Shaker” single is in the pop Top 10. . . .

Word from the Natalie Cole camp is that the singer is considering doing another album of standards in the mold of her multimillion-seller “Unforgettable.” It should be ready late next year. . . .

Little Steven reunited the E Street Band to back Darlene Love on “All Alone at Christmas” for the “Home Alone 2” soundtrack. The album doubles as a Christmas release, featuring new seasonal tunes by Bette Midler and TLC. . . . Genesis is entering the two-album market, but with a twist: The group will release two live albums two months apart. “Volume 1: The Shorts” is due Nov. 17, focusing on the pop hits, while “Volume 2: The Longs” is set for mid-January, featuring lengthier musical workouts. Meanwhile, Genesis’ Phil Collins still has no plans for a solo album any time soon. . . .

Also on the two-album front: Crooner Harry Connick Jr. will be doing the double release on Nov. 24. He has a twist, too. One album, titled “11,” was recorded when he was that age, while the other, “25,” is new sessions, the title reflecting--you guessed it--his current age. Both albums feature pop and jazz standards. . . .

Poison is wrapping up its first album with new guitarist Richie Kotzen, who replaced C.C. DeVille. “Native Tongue” is due in February. . . .

Ready for “The Commitments II”? A sequel to the hit film about a hapless Dublin rock band is set to shoot early next year, with the story having the group re-form in New York. Meanwhile, stout-voiced Andrew Strong, who will reprise his role as lead singer, is working on his debut album for MCA with Danny Kortchmar (Don Henley’s longtime partner) producing. . . .

LL Cool J has a role in the upcoming Robin Williams comedy “Toys,” but the rapper won’t contribute to the soundtrack. He’s apparently been too busy working on his own album, due in January. . . . The “Toys” album, due Dec. 15, includes tracks from Wendy & Lisa, Tori Amos, Enya, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and possibly a last-minute addition by Seal. . . .

Annie Lennox’s “Love Song for a Vampire” will be in the “Dracula” movie. The soundtrack will be in stores Nov. 17. . . . Another soundtrack due Nov. 17 is “Fathers and Sons,” with previously unreleased songs by Chris Whitley and Susannah Hoffs, as well as contributions from Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, James McMurtry and Thelonious Monster.

Country singer K.T. Oslin is following k.d. lang into the pop world. Oslin’s upcoming greatest-hits album (due early next year) will include three new songs produced by David Kershenbaum and will be marketed by RCA’s pop division rather than its Nashville wing. . . . James Taylor is set to record shows on an upcoming short tour for a live greatest-hits album. . . .

Punk fans can look forward to an early-’93 release of a Germs compilation CD featuring the seminal band’s lone, Joan Jett-produced album and some previously unreleased material recently unearthed in Slash Records’ vault.
