SHINING MOMENT: So, you think the new terminal at John Wayne Airport is just about perfect? Not so. Airport officials are trying to correct a minor blunder in original plans--they’re going to put in shoeshine stands. And yes, women travelers use shoeshine stands too, says airport spokeswoman Courtney Wiercioch, “if their shoes are leather.” . . . The county’s taking bids from shoeshine operators now. It will have stands on each end.
