If there is pressure on the UCLA women’s volleyball team to continue its winning streak, it failed to show in the final match of the round-robin UCLA Classic on Saturday night.

The top-ranked Bruins used a balanced attack to defeat No. 5 Nebraska, 15-11, 15-6, 15-7, before 3,180 in Pauley Pavilion. UCLA (25-0) tied a school record by winning its 35th consecutive match, dating to last season. This season, the Bruins have swept 14 consecutive matches, a streak that includes winning 45 games in a row.

Natalie Williams led UCLA on Saturday night with 16 kills, eight digs and five blocks. Elaine Youngs, the tournament’s most valuable player, had 11 kills and led UCLA with 14 digs.

Nebraska was led by senior Stephanie Thater, the 1991 Big Eight Conference player of the year, and freshman Allison Weston. Thater and Weston had 14 kills apiece.

USC defeated No. 13 Colorado, 13-15, 15-6, 17-15, 15-13, in the other game Saturday night. USC (18-6) was led by Cica Baccelli, who had 29 kills and five blocks.
