Rico Cattani, president of Cattani Films who worked as an actor, producer and manager for more than 50 years, has died. He was 64.

Cattani died Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of adult respiratory disease syndrome brought about by a chronic heart condition.

He began his career as a child actor in his native Italy and became a producer when his family moved to Brazil at the outbreak of World War II. He emigrated to the United States in 1957 and made his Hollywood debut acting in the television series “Combat.”

Cattani is survived by his wife, Arlene, and two stepdaughters.
