Cincinnati Red owner Marge Schott is going to court this week after being sued for $2.5 million by former team controller Tim Sabo, who claims she discriminates against minorities.
Schott denies the allegations.
Sabo also claims Schott fired him for giving damaging testimony last year as part of a lawsuit filed by the club’s minority partners.
In depositions released Friday, several other former Reds executives said they heard Schott refer to blacks and Jews with slurs. Cal Levy, a former director of marketing, said Schott used racial slurs when referring to former Reds outfielders Eric Davis and Dave Parker.
Schott has denied all of Sabo’s allegations and countersued, claiming he embezzled team money.
