People and the Forest
In Michael Wilmington’s review of the IMAX film “Tropical Rain Forest” (“A Lush and Saddening ‘Rain Forest,’ ” Nov. 13), he states that if the “film has a major flaw, it may be in not making clear to us the root causes of the current devastation” that is depicted.
Why did he not state explicitly that the root cause is overpopulation that has not only exploited our resources and contributed to ecological destruction but will continue to contribute to the degradation of the Earth unless we put forth greater effort to stabilize the Earth’s population now ?
