Los Angeles police seized 48 marijuana plants they discovered in a Van Nuys apartment that had been converted into a growing lab, authorities said Sunday.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of a tenant of the complex in the 14300 block of Burbank Boulevard, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Michael Klein said. Authorities declined to release the tenant’s identity.
The plants were discovered Saturday when the manager of the complex was checking individual apartments for gas leaks, Sgt. Joe Brazas said.
The apartment contained more than $4,000 worth of equipment, including special lights, Brazas said. He said he was unsure of the value of the plants, which ranged in height from one to two feet.
