MORE PLATES: They will be setting a few extra places at the Orange County Rescue Mission in Santa Ana on Thursday, and it’s because of the bad economy. . . . The mission expects to feed about 1,500 people, up 20% from last year. “There are more and more people on the streets,” says Executive Director Jim Palmer, who hopes that 1993 will be better for the indigent, “but our gut feeling (is) it’ll be another bad year.”
