Smith said that an official inadvertently got in the way of tight end Yonnie Jackson on the Trojans’ botched two-point conversion pass with 41 seconds left in last week’s 38-37 loss to UCLA.

“The play was open, but when our tight end had to slow up and get around (the official) that gave (linebacker Nkosi Littleton) time to get back,” Smith said. “But football is a game of inches and microseconds.”
