Top-ranked UCLA will play at third-ranked Cal State Long Beach tonight at 7:30 in a nonconference women’s volleyball match with national implications.

The two-time defending NCAA champion Bruins came back from a 2-0 deficit and defeated the 49ers for the national title last year at Pauley Pavilion. Many expect the teams to meet again for the title in the Final Four next month at Albuquerque, N.M.

UCLA (28-0) has won 38 consecutive matches dating to last season. The Bruins are led by outside hitter Natalie Williams, who has a .412 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Elaine Youngs is hitting .377 and setter Julie Bremner is averaging nearly 14 assists.
