Former Nashville demo singer gets her big break with a debut album, where she displays a good ear for material and an attractively unconventional voice. Trisha II? Not really. White’s quavery vocals have more in common with Textone Carla Olson and Victoria Williams, and this Arkansan leans at times too heavily on its appealing sound, and not enough on her ability to shape a lyric. But all in all, it’s a tantalizing beginning.
