ESCONDIDO : Motorcycle Kills Man Crossing Street
An Escondido man died Sunday after he was hit by a motorcycle as he walked across Centre City Parkway at Grand Avenue, a police spokeswoman said.
David Garcia Dominguez, 58, was pronounced dead at Palomar Medical Center at 5:27 p.m., about five minutes after the collision, a county medical examiner’s investigator said.
Dominguez was attempting to cross Centre City Parkway from the southwest corner when he was hit by the southbound motorcycle in the slow lane, Sgt. Kathy Potter said.
The cycle operator, Ruben Sanchez, 39, of Valley Center, was taken to a hospital with broken legs, head and internal injuries, Potter said.
An unidentified 15-year-old passenger on the motorcycle suffered minor injuries, Potter said.
No citations were issued or arrests made, and the investigation was continuing, Potter said.
