On Women and Growing Old

There is nothing appealing about a yellowed and dying vase of flowers. Certainly yesterday’s mashed potatoes and dried out prunes cannot match an appealing plate of fresh fruit. Therefore, the willingness of older women to look and act young and beautiful is nothing but admirable.

Poets tell us that youth is a state of mind. If this is true, why not keep a youthful countenance as well? As a grandmother of three, I still run several businesses and try to look and act as energetic and young as possible. Let’s face it. Gray hair, dowdy clothes and rocking chairs aren’t for everyone.
