Hot Line Offers Tips on Recycling Efforts
A hot line has been started for Ventura County residents who want to recycle but have questions about what they can dispose of or how to begin, county officials have announced.
The Ventura County Recycling Consortium, made up of public agencies and private recycling firms, has established the 24-hour Recycling Hotline with recorded information about recycling for each city in the county.
By calling the automated hot line, callers also can hear how to dispose of hazardous household waste and about special programs to recycle Christmas trees and telephone books.
The hot line can be reached by calling 654-3935. Individuals without a touch-tone telephone must call between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays, when an operator can assist with the inquiry.
For residents for whom the call would be a toll charge, the hot line can be reached by calling the local County Government Center phone number and then requesting extension 3935.
