COSTA MESA : Police Identify Man Found Shot to Death
Homicide investigators on Thursday identified a man found shot to death in his car earlier this week as 24-year-old Chung (Kevin) Long Lu.
Police said Lu, who is originally from Taiwan, was a resident of Costa Mesa and was unemployed. He was a full-time student at Orange Coast College, where he began attending classes in the summer, college officials said.
Police found Lu inside the car Wednesday morning. He was sitting in the driver’s side of the car, which was parked in a strip mall parking lot at 688 W. Baker Street. He had been shot in the head.
Sgt. Mike Millington said Lu had been waiting for a friend before the killing. Millington would neither comment on the identity of the friend nor how long the victim had been waiting in the parking lot.
Police would not speculate on a motive or provide any further details. No arrests had been made, police said.
