Baldwin Park : Youth Advisory Panel
Four high school students and one college student were named Wednesday to sit on Baldwin Park’s first Youth Advisory Committee.
The group will meet quarterly to discuss issues of importance to young people and make recommendations to the City Council.
Mayor Pro Tem Martin Gallegos, who first introduced the idea a year ago, said the city received 24 applications from students.
“They should be very proud. This is something that’s going to benefit the community immensely,” Gallegos said.
The student appointees are Veronica Garcia, 16, and Erin Kenyon, 18, of Baldwin Park High School; Aracelli Castillo, 16, and Richard Carlson, 17, of Sierra Vista High School, and Evelia Sanchez, 18, a freshman at Citrus College.
