Scrub the Caption, It’s the Wrong Jay

Loved the picture of the cheeky jay enjoying the wonders of the ex-dump Botanic Garden on the peninsula (Sunday, Nov. 29). However, if that’s a steller’s jay, I am the heir to the throne of Siam! Any third-grade biology student could tell you that was a scrub jay--a vastly different, substantially smaller, successfully urban, and significantly better-behaved member of the same family.

Here’s to more accurate identification of future bird and critter snaps.
