Court Watch: The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to decide this week whether to review an 11th Circuit Court decision that Miami rap group 2 Live Crew’s “As Nasty as They Wanna Be” album is not obscene. The review was requested by the Broward County Sheriff’s Department after the appeals court declared in May that no evidence was presented to prove the record lacks serious artistic value. . . . Jury selection for the much-publicized Paula Abdul lip-sync case is also scheduled to begin this week--possibly on Tuesday--in Los Angeles federal court. Abdul was sued in April, 1991, by her former backup singer Yvette Marine, who claimed her voice was electronically combined with Abdul’s on two early hits.
