The 6 p.m. scrimmage is open to the public.

Among those expected to participate are forwards Thompson Usiyan, Wes Wade and Paul Wright, midfielder Jacques Ladouceur, defenders David Banks, Gus Castaneda, Alex Golovnia and Ralf Wilhelms and goalies Jim Gorsek and Zoltan Toth.

Forward Chugger Adair, who helped the University of San Diego get to last weekend’s NCAA championship game, also will play.

Adair said he wasn’t sure if he will be included on the 14-man squad that travels to Zurich for the Jan. 2-3 tournament.

He’ll have plenty of competition--several former Major Soccer League players will join the team in Zurich: forwards Rod Castro, David Doyle, Roderick Scott, midfielders Paul Dougherty, Kevin Smith, Nick Stavrou, defenders Ralph Black, Jimmy McGeough and goalie Joe Papaleo.

FOOTBALL

San Diego State announced its 1993 football schedule, which includes nonconference games against Cal, Minnesota and UCLA as well as Cal State Northridge.

The Aztecs will open the season at home Sept. 4 against Northridge in the first meeting between those two schools’ football teams. The Sept. 25 home game against Big Ten member Minnesota also will mark the first football duel between those two schools.
