Hawaiian Gardens : Holiday Decor to Be Judged for Prizes From City

Owners of homes and commercial buildings with the best Christmas decorations will receive plaques, ribbons and congratulatory letters from Hawaiian Gardens officials. The five members of the Planning Commission will tour the city Tuesday to judge the exteriors of all homes, condominiums, apartments, mobile homes and businesses that have been decorated for the holidays.

Awards will be given in three categories: mobile homes, other residences and businesses. Winners will receive prizes at a future City Council meeting. The purpose of the contest is to encourage residents and businesses to decorate for the holidays.
