LANCASTER : School Official Not Leaving After All

Share

Lancaster resident Charles Whiteside said Wednesday that he will remain a board member of the Antelope Valley Union High School District and an administrator at Antelope Valley College because a planned job move to Sacramento did not materialize.

Whiteside had told colleagues at the district and college of his planned move, sparking news about his impending dual resignations. But then Whiteside said he was unable to reach agreement on a contract Tuesday night with the Sacramento City Unified School District.

Whiteside, appointed as Antelope Valley College’s human resources director in April, 1988, and elected to the high school board in November, 1991, was a candidate to become Sacramento’s assistant superintendent for personnel services. The school board there hired another candidate Tuesday.
