Five San Fernando Valley men were arrested in San Fernando while loading three cars with more than $1.3 million worth of methamphetamines, authorities said Thursday.

The arrests were made Tuesday by investigators from local and federal police agencies who form L.A. IMPACT (Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force).

The task force set up a surveillance operation outside the house of Jorge Barreda in the 1200 block of Knox Street about 6 p.m. Tuesday after receiving tips of drug activity in the area, said L.A. IMPACT spokesman David Barkdull.
