Why Not Wear a Wig?

Share

In “Bad Hair Day?” (Dec. 11), Mary Ann Hogan writes that humidity makes hair frizz. She’s forgetting a lot of sisters out there have hair that goes limp-straight in humid weather, or any damp condition. It’s usually naturally straight-as-a-stick fine hair and will only retain a decent coiffure in dry weather.

Louis XIV had the right idea. In an emergency (hair loss, stress, wet weather, dry weather, whatever) wear a wig. Find one that is close to your color and style and keep it with you. When I pack, the wig goes in first. Relatively inexpensive wigs made of man-made fibers seem to stay put damp or dry.
