Share

Pasadena Schools Security Chief Charles Parcell has received a 30-day notice of his termination for alleged misuse of a cellular phone, misappropriation of a computer and sexual harassment, his attorney, James M. Farley, said.

Farley said his client has denied the charges and a hearing before an administrative law judge has been set for Jan. 13 and 14 to determine whether Parcell, former principal of Blair High School, can be terminated.

Parcell is scheduled to make a pretrial appearance Jan. 11 in Pasadena Superior Court on a charge of filing a false police report in connection with a missing district computer that has since been recovered. Parcell, who is on paid administrative leave, has entered a not guilty plea.

According to district phone records, more than $8,000 was billed between August, 1990, and August, 1992, to the cellular telephone assigned to Parcell.

Many of the calls were to other area codes. The bills, which included calls to Utah and Nebraska, ran as high as $577.80.
