Imagine Films Deadline Extended: Director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer have extended until Jan. 11 their proposal to acquire Imagine Films Entertainment Inc., a company they founded in 1985. The offer was scheduled to expire Monday. Howard and Grazer have offered to pay $9 a share, or $21.6 million, for the remaining shares in Imagine. The purchase would be backed by MCA Inc., a unit of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Several other parties are interested in Imagine because of the value of projects under development, analysts said.
