Battle of Dolls Ends With a Face Lift

Sindy and Barbie, who were locked in a vicious fight, have settled it: Sindy is going to have her head examined.
The dolls looked too alike--a problem for Barbie’s people at Mattel Inc., based in El Segundo. So Mattel sued Hasbro, which markets Sindy in Europe.
Just as the girls were getting all dolled up for a date in a London court Tuesday, Hasbro backed down.
Result: Sindy will undergo plastic surgery. As part of the settlement of the suit, Pawtucket, R.I.-based Hasbro said it will “re-sculpt” Sindy’s head.
