RETAIL/TOURISM : A New Year’s Eve Bash to Rave About at Knott’s Berry Farm
- Share via
Hoping to follow up on the success of its Halloween Haunt and other special events, Knott’s Berry Farm plans to transform its amusement park into an all-night New Year’s Eve dance haven for teens.
The idea is to try to capitalize on the impromptu, underground dance-party phenomenon known as “raves.” As such, the park will be decorated with lasers and performance art and will offer all kinds of music. Bands will be on hand to play genres that range from rap or hip-hop to acid rock and “techno.”
The bash is being billed as “K-Rave ’93.” The park’s entertainment director, Jeff Langley, promises “the biggest, most imaginative, most ambitious ‘rave’ ever produced.”
