Electronic Librarian: Stat media, a Yorba Linda multimedia production company, said it has developed a kiosk that lets library patrons get answers to commonly asked questions.

The Macintosh-based system uses a touch screen that has a variety of topics including applying for a library card, library service hours and local community information such as restaurants. The patron presses the screen to receive instructions about a chosen topic.

The company created the kiosk so that librarians can edit and customize the computer screens as they wish.
