Make ‘Em Laugh: “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening says the way to get away with irreverence is to heap on the humor. “I find you can get away with all sorts of unusual ideas if you present them with a smile on your face,” the 38-year-old father of two says in the January issue of Spin magazine. “I don’t care about being slick or sexy or presenting that look in my work. A lot of people in music videos, films and novels express themselves with a kind of sullen sexiness. I’m much more interested in making people laugh.”
