Train Kills Man in San Clemente
SAN CLEMENTE —
A San Clemente man was struck and killed by a northbound Amtrak train here at 7:43 a.m. Friday as he walked across railroad tracks near the city’s pier, the Orange County coroner’s office reported.
The victim was identified as Jody Vincent Mumford, 40. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputy Coroner Kurt Murine said Mumford was struck by the train while crossing the tracks at the beach access of North El Camino Real, near the pier.
