Felando Named to Youth Parole Board
Gov. Pete Wilson on Wednesday appointed former Assemblyman Gerald N. Felando of San Pedro to the Youthful Offender Parole Board.
Felando, a 58-year-old Republican, served in the Assembly for 14 years before he was unseated Nov. 3 by underdog Democrat Betty Karnette of Long Beach. His appointment to the $76,872-a-year post is subject to state Senate confirmation.
Felando previously served on the Pacific Marine Fisheries Commission and is a member of the Western Dental Society and the American and California dental associations. He graduated from Harbor College in 1960 and received a doctorate in dental surgery from USC in 1964.
