Music to Buy Stamps By: Customers who line up at a Los Angeles post office Friday to buy the new Elvis Presley stamp will be serenaded by the English duo the Popinjays. Wendy Robinson and Polly Hancock will perform their English hit “Vote Elvis” (inspired by an English politician, not the stamp balloting) at 12:30 p.m., a half an hour after the stamp goes on sale. There’s a hitch, however. The pair is not disclosing which post office, since the performance isunauthorized. But for those who happen to be in the right locale, there will be a bonus: Ex-Monkee Peter Tork is set to join the duo for a rendition of his group’s ‘60s hit, “I’m a Believer,” which the Popinjays recently recorded.
