Video Recycling: With hundreds of hours of past TV programming tucked away but retrievable, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has formed a new committee to develop and market TV programs around its existing and future assets. The academy maintains archives with UCLA that contain more than 25,000 programs, and the idea is to draw on this resource to mount new entertainment programs for network, syndication, cable and video distribution. Industry executives David Gerber and Edgar J. Scherick have been named to co-chair the new committee.
