SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Four men who allegedly beat a Laguna Hills man with tire irons and stabbed him in the back with a screwdriver were arrested, sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.

Three brothers, Alberto Cisneros, 34, Miguel Cisneros, 20, and Carlos Cisneros, 24, all of San Juan Capistrano; and Ernesto Saucillo, 21, also of San Juan Capistrano, were being held at Orange County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, said Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez.

The victim, identified as Bonafacio Roman, 26, was hospitalized at an undisclosed location with three stab wounds in his back, Mendez said.

The incident began Tuesday afternoon when Roman was spotted in a restaurant by one of his alleged attackers, Mendez said. The four suspects later showed up carrying tire irons and beat Roman in an alley on the 31000 block of Camino Capistrano, Mendez said.

The attackers fled when paramedics arrived.

Investigators believe that the incident was part of a long-simmering dispute between the victim and the four suspects, Mendez said.

Roman was able to identify his attackers, Mendez said. His location was not being disclosed for fear of retaliation, Mendez said.

The Cisneros brothers and Saucillo were each being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
