Elevated Rail Not a New Idea

I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw the front page of The Times’ Valley Edition on Jan. 3. The design and discussion of a Disneyland-type monorail has not changed in 27 years.

I was in high school when the attached City Planning News Report was published (see illustration). I’m a parent of a college student now, and I’ll be dead by the time some kind of mass transit is built in the San Fernando Valley.

It’s a shame that so much time and money has been spent and we still don’t have anything to show for it.
