Changing U.S. Drug Policy
To take the crime out of drugs, take the money out of it. How do we do that? The government buys the drugs from whomever and gives them away to addicts. No more drug dealers. Just addicts. Then maybe some of the addicts can be helped. For sure there will be no more drug criminals.
As a person who is personally knowledgeable about 12-step programs, I find your insertion of AA-type groups laughable. People who are addicts have to want to cure themselves, and change themselves. CA, AA, etc., are already available. They are free. Anyone can go to meetings and start recovery. Those who don’t go don’t want to go. They don’t want to take responsibility for their lives and behavior.
