PALMDALE : Council Approves Cost-of-Living Raise

Share

The Palmdale City Council, predicting a slightly brighter financial picture for the city, has approved a 3% cost-of-living pay increase for the city’s full- and part-time employees. The unanimous vote Thursday night to approve the raise and a 2-cent increase in the city’s mileage reimbursement rate to 28 cents a mile is expected to cost about $155,000 for the coming six months. The pay raise is retroactive to Dec. 28. The city normally would have granted the annual raise last July but deferred it because of the economy. Lancaster last month approved a two-year package that will provide no regular pay raises to the city’s non-union workers through 1994.
