ALWAYS A YANKEE: Reggie Jackson, who gained his nickname “Mr. October” as a Yankee slugger, has chosen to have his Hall of Fame plaque depict him in the New York pin stripes instead of an Angels uniform. Jackson explains: “I think I’m remembered most for what happened in New York.” . . . Five other Angels have made it to the hall, but all are depicted in uniforms from other teams: Frank Robinson, Rod Carew and Hoyt Wilhelm as players, and coaches Billy Herman and Bob Lemon.
