Headlines Throw Curve at a Doonesbury Strip

The sudden withdrawal of Zoe Baird as President Clinton’s nominee for attorney general came too late to update a Doonesbury comic strip for today.

But minor changes in dialogue have been made in two other strips scheduled for use next week, said Alan McDermott, managing editor of the Universal Press Syndicate, which distributes the strip.

Baird withdrew her name from consideration early Friday.
