Southland architects were winners of 14 of 22 professional design awards presented by the Society of American Registered Architects at its recent national convention in Seattle. The society was founded in 1956 to encourage architects to expand their roles into related fields of architectural design.

A total of 67 entries were submitted, according to the jury chairman, N. Michael Griffith, and winning projects were located in five states, the District of Columbia and Venezuela. The judging was conducted by a panel of architects from Pennsylvania.
